About NCC Damai
Best Unit Competition for WY2016: Silver (82%) (Redcon 2B)
With a humble beginning of only a handful of NCC Cadets and one Teacher Officer, Damai's National Cadet Corps has grown to a total strength that of a Company comprising of 2 Cadet Platoons (Part A & B) and a Specialist Platoon (Part C/D). We also have 3 Teachers-in-charge, namely:
CPT Phoa Yew Hui (Commanding Officer, CO)
2LT Yong Guanghui (Training Officer, S3)
Mr Lim Zhenghong (Teacher)
In each NCC training session, the specialists will teach the cadets footdrill/armsdrill and impart their knowledge of Individual Fieldcraft (IFC) to them. There will also be a minimal 1 hour of Physical Training to ensure our cadets stay in shape as well as to prepare them for their NAPFA tests.
Leadership skills are also honed when the cadet advances to Sec 3, when they will attend the Specialist Assessment to test their leadership abilities and their military knowledge. 5 selected Specs will attend the 3D2N Senior Spec Course to further enhance their skills, while another 5 Specs will attend the Leaders Camp. Highlights of other courses/camps are Supernumerary ADC, Water Ambassador, Energy, SANA, Civil Defence, Mt. Ophir, Survival, Camp Pin, Basic Airborne, Basic Diver's and many more.
